Ex-Brazilian president Bolsonaro starts serving his 27-year prison term for coup plot

Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro has begun serving his 27-year sentence for plotting a failed coup.
He will remain at federal police headquarters in Brasilia, where he was detained on Saturday, after tampering with his ankle bracelet while under house arrest.
Bolsonaro was convicted in September for conspiring to stay in power after his 2022 election defeat.
